Come to Meramec Caverns: Jesse James Hideout, With Us!

We found some amazing coral before the tour began. I just love it! It is super amazing!

This is the ceiling of the Meramec Caverns.

 Native Copper.
 Salt Peter.
Him touching Galena. Its is really amazing.
1861 long rifle.
Dolomite, which the cave is filled with.
This is the Dead End Room because before the new owners bought it the cave stopped here.
This is a Horse's skull, not part of the caves.
 Jesse James's model.
Ooh Salamander in a cave! It's a baby.
This was the Limestone's! They are so pretty!

 The Limestone formed a column.

 This is Onyx Mountain!
This is my handsome husband and our awesome tour guide. She lived in Colorado for a couple years returning to Missouri four months ago.

Botryoidal habit which a rock is formed as a grape structure by water eroding around the edges of the rock. It took a couple million years on larger rocks but a couple hundred on  smaller ones.

This is a light show of limestone formations.
This is the wine "whine" room. It is called that because if you look closely you can see a wine bottle and two wine glasses. If you peek even closer you can see salt and pepper shakers as well. It is called the whining room because it takes 56 or 58 stairs to get up there. Some people don't want to go up the stairs and so they whine. I toughed it out and it was worth it. It took 70 million years to form.
He is pointing at Aragonite its a Botryoidal habit.
I am having the time of my life, see?

Our last stop was this amazing cavern. This is called the "theater" and it is a stalactite formation. This is called the "curtains".

 Here is the "orchestra room".
 Second floor seating.
 This is the "dressing room".
This is where the "stage and curtains separate".

This was the video!

This was nicknamed the Mother-in-law's tongue. The structure is called a stalactite.

This was our trip! It was super fun! Enjoy the video and pictures. Go to the Meramec Caverns. 4 years and younger get in free! Super educational trip. Can't wait to take our own children down there!

April 12, 2014- Engaged

On April 12, 2014 I got up around 7 am and waited for my then boyfriend, to come and give me our very first hug. I walked to the church when he called so I could meet him for the first time. When I reached the church I stopped dead in my tracks as his, now our, truck was red, and I looked at him before shaking my head lovingly and then I ran into his arms and gave him a big hug. We went back to the house I was staying at and he changed and then came out. He placed his belongings down on the couch, got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I, obviously, said yes! And then we went about our day, don't worry we got our first kiss out of the way later that day.

After we got engaged we had a lot to do that day. I had gotten my GED about two weeks before that, and I had a party that day to go to. So I showed him where to go to get the the house who was throwing me the party, and then we went inside and said hello and I introduced him. Then we went to go to my job at the time and get my first paycheck. After that we went to walmart and got two wedding bands before heading to the library and going online. After the library we had a lunch in the truck before heading over to the house for the party. He got to meet a lot of my friends, one of which took a look at my engagement ring and then looked at him and said, "You did really great!" and yes I am quoting you and you know who you are if you are reading this! In the midst of the party my old bishop took him to the church to have a meeting. I was disappointed because my fiance was taken away to go be talked to when it was my party.

He came back about 30 minutes later and we continued meeting friends and having fun! After the party we decided to go to as gas station and fill the truck up. After we were done with that, we got lost, so not my fault, he didn't want to take directions lol. We finally got back to the house around 4 pm and he only had a few minutes before he had to go. So we got our first kiss out of the way, and I had not kissed a guy before because I chose when I was younger to save myself, even kissing, for the one that would take my hand and marry me. After we got our first kiss out of the way we tried again and we felt the big sparks. He left around 4:30 after promising to call me when he got back. He called me around 8:45 that night and I breathed a big sigh of relief.

When we got married is on here.

February 20, 2014- How We Met

I had barely turned eighteen years old eight days prior. I wanted to get out in the world and make some friends from all over the country. So I signed up on this awesome website click [HERE] and I was looking through profiles to see who I could friend, everyone women, men, old and young alike. I got some weird messages from older guys saying that they wanted to marry me, like 80 year olds, but I came upon this profile: Robbie Miller, cute picture attached and just a glow in his eyes. I messaged him and said, he could be out of my league so I pushed him out of my mind and went to sleep for Seminary in the morning. After Seminary I came back and started preparing for the mini- MTC which I was going to attend on the 28th, yes I am not a procrastinator. When I was done with packing then I went and ate breakfast, all while trying to avoid that site.

The avoiding worked until about 10 that morning, and he was in class, though I really didn't know that. I finally worked up the nerve to get on and read the message. To my eternal joy and surprise, as my mind set still was that he is out of my league, there was a message from him. We chatted for four days before, yes this is very nontraditional, I asked him out and he took no time accepting. We didn't have a dating life except for weekly family home evenings. We both have a silly personality and we both love to have fun and play a lot of games with each other.

Engagement coming up.

But for now:

Love you guys!

Periodontist Visit

Wednesday November 19, 2014 at 8: 20 am I went into a visit that could give me good news, or very bad news, oral surgery. My husband gave me a blessing and I had to fast in the morning so I would have a clean mouth. The news was that I have to get a special cleaning done by them because my gums are so sensitive. And we have dental, so its not coming out of pocket. Then we went to the orthodontist and they said I have to get a special appliance to make sure that the braces work and I don't redo my gap as I suck my thumb. Super glad that I can get them and that I can stop sucking my thumb like I've wanted to for so long! Thank God that my husband supports me. He really wants me to have dental hygiene! I so cannot wait to have a healthy mouth.

We had so much fun yesterday, oh wait, no we didn't! I got poked, prodded and everything else, but at least I got a blessing that said that I could withstand anything at the appointment and that blessing made me feel so much better! I'm so glad that he holds his Priesthood worthily and that when I need a blessing I can have one no waiting periods no nothing!

And that Wednesday was the scariest of my life as to waiting to make sure that I'm alright! Scariest day over!!

Weekend Trip

My husband had the weekend off so we spent Saturday night at his parents house. I missed spending time with them so we spent the night and loved it! I've been coughing a ruckus so my husband took me to the ER this morning and we found out I have bronchitis. He gave me a blessing that I would heal fast and I trust so much in the priesthood that he holds. I'm so glad to have a husband that has the priesthood and holds it worthily. This bronchitis is kicking my butt! Ugh my temp jumped from a meesily  97.2 all the way up to 98.2. I'm taking my temperature everyday because we want to have a baby. There, its out, we want to get pregnant. I will be updating everyone when I am 3 months along! I so promise that because I really don't want to keep it in that long but hubby says to. It also skips the risky part of the pregnancy! So stay tuned to see our special announcement.

Being sick, I get to be pampered by my husband. Giving me my pills, making sure I'm getting enough rest. I love him so much. Apparently when I get pregnant it's going to be the same, he says that a pregnant lady, me, needs to rest and keep off her feet. Oh my, and even now that we are trying he gives me breaks from cooking and everything. He gives me the breaks so my body is healthy and fit to carry a baby to full term. We've gotten healthy food into the house and everything so we can work on my diet so that I would have gotten used to it when I'm pregnant.

We can't wait to find out that I'm pregnant and then go through the pregnancy! I love him and can't wait to carry our child and give birth to that baby that we will call our own! It will be a hard road for getting pregnant but once I am pregnant then we will get an ob-gyn appointment and make sure that baby is okay!  But this sickness is kicking my butt. Time to lay down and watch netflix.

Bullying we all go through it at least once in life

Okay, we all went, or are going through High school, people are popular, in the middle, or the ones that are being bullied. I was one of the latter people. I got bullied everyday. I got kicked around, not literally kicked but you get the picture, I got shoved into a desk, yes this was literally, and a pencil lead stuck in my head. Yes I sucked my thumb, I still am trying to break that habit and everything but I'm not posting this to be judged, I am just trying to tell people one reason I got bullied. The only reason I started sucking my thumb was because my step-dad died when I was six years old and I had nobody to rely on, not even my mother who was lost in her own depression.

I held everything up inside me until one day in tenth grade, there was this bully who kept calling me names, the b word, the s word, the w word and every demeaning thing she could think of to call me. She kept pressing her knee into the back of my chair everyday on the bus so finally I turned around and smacked her on the leg, it was a tap to me, at least I thought it was, until her leg turned red. Then she goes to the superintendent of the school and complains that I smacked her for doing nothing. I told him that is was bull and then he kicked me off the bus for two weeks. When it was finally proven that she was the bully and not me he had to give consequences out to the bully. She was the one kicked off the bus for awhile and then she had to come up with transportation.

My husband had similar problems. When he was in fourth grade this kindergartner or first grader, yes the kid was younger than him but boy did that kid have a temper. The kindergartner or first grader started to harass him and started to throw punches at him. In self-defense, he threw punches in return. The kindergartner or first grader started to fight back, but couldn't stand up to my husband. Eventually, the fight ended with the kindergartner or first grader coming out with a bruises, one black eye, and a broken nose. My husband was not kicked off the bus or kicked out of school because of the self-defense tactics against a kid that turned out to be a bully.

We both went through bullying and came out stronger. I am so glad we came out of our bullying and lived to fight another day. Another thing I'm thankful for is that we came together and we are stronger together.

Husband post

This post will be all about my awesome husband. I wouldn't be who I am today if it weren't for him. If I didn't have my husband I know that I wouldn't have started college, and be on the fast track to becoming an RN. I might not be ok all the time but at least I can control my emotions at times. He even treats me to stuff that sometimes we can't afford. Like a week ago, we bought some night stands and they are the really nice ones. They look a little like these:
I love them and the were 416.54 ish and we put 20 do and now we have 90 days to pay the 396.54. When I saw them he said that we could afford them if we did them in payments and I jumped at the opportunity! We'll get the night stands paid off as soon as we can and then we can get the decorating done! We are still doing some decorating so when we are done, and have the nightstands in place I'll post pictures! I promise.

The next thing he got me was real Amethyst's which are my birthstone! My birthday is February 12th and Amethyst is February's birthstone! Here I'll prove it:
See I told you it is my birthstone! Nah I'm just kidding you all knew that! I'll post a picture of them first all of them from far away then one as close up as I can get it.

I love my husband so very much! He treats me with the respect that I deserve, and I know that he would never hurt me. He is the most perfect gentlemen that I could have asked for in a husband. He respects and honors his priesthood, he upholds his duties, and he works full time while finding time to go to college full time. I don't know what I would do with out him! He is the love of my life. And here is a quote to prove it!

Take a trip with us to St. Louis

Yesterday morning we started out on our adventure. First stop was McDonald's for an oatmeal and a Sausage McGrittil and topped it off with some orange juice. Then we went to the Res college to meet up with some of his classmates and his professor before heading to St. Louis. Crazy trip up to the big city, with a couple semi's trying to block us off, and then us getting lost in downtown, I hope I never go there again. At least not right now.

Here are the pictures from the trip! I will need my husband to help with each and every building so hold on to your seats while this thing gets explained.

Lambert building, formerly the Washington University in St. Louis built in 1891with an addition in 1902.  Both the original building and the addition are in a Romanesque Revival style with red brick and red sandstone trim.

The Orpheus theater was built in 1917.The architects were local self-made millionaire Louis A. Cella and designed by architect Albert Lansburgh. The architectural name is Beaux-arts.

Renaissance St. Louis Grand & Suites Hotel. Originally: Statler hotel, later gateway hotel. The Architect is George Post and it was built in 1917, before being renovated in 1960. The architectural style is art deco.

The old Post office. Built: 1873-1884, the Architect was Alfred B. Mullet. The architectural style is Second Empire style.

Paul Brown Building was built in 1926. The architect is Preston Bradshaw. The architectural style is Art deco.

St. Louis Mercantile Library was founded in 1846. The architect was Robert S. Mitchell. The architectural style is Chicago school.

The Arcade building. It was completed in 1919 and because of World War 1 the architects had to use Reinforced Concrete. At one time, it was also said to be the tallest reinforced concrete building. It is now being renovated to become apartments.

Garden Park was built in 2009. The architect is not mentioned. It transformed just a normal park to a tourist attraction!

This one I can explain myself. It is the St. Louis Trolley and it is so pretty. If you click on the picture you can get a close-up on how cute it is designed!

Civil Courts building was built in 1930. The Architects were Klipstein and Rathmann. The architectural style is Federal.

The Federal Court building which was built in 1935. The architects are Russell and Crowell Mauran. The architectural style is also Federal.
This one we didn't hear about. But I might be able to get some answers for you on the internet so just hold on and I'll see! All I can find is that it is a restaurant.

City Hall built in 1904, construction began in 1892. Neo- Byzantine architectural style.

And that's my cute husband with the Arch in the background!

This is the back of City hall. See the two Linyx? No, I'll point them out to you.

And there they are!

Chemical Building was built in 1896 with a 1906 addition. The architects were Henry Ives Cobb (original) and Mauran. The architectural style is Chicago school.

Frisco Building was built in 1902, 1905. The architect is Eames and Young. The architectural style is art deco.

Farm and Home Savings and Loan Association building was built in 1954. The architect is W.G. Knoebel.  The architectural style is Modern movement.

And the best place to end a trip is at the House of the Lord!!!
I love the temple so much!

Thank you for tagging along with us to these many buildings and touring with us! So glad to have you on the trip to St. Louis. Hope you had as much fun as we did! I know we had a blast and learned a lot!
